脫scar Abraham Pab贸n bases his research on the soul search for new meanings for forms and materials. In his language the geometric and the abstract are transformed to endow the objects with other readings. The carpets of traditional Persian patterns are intervened by the artist and unfold in space with clear sculptural intentions. It is an ornamental language that coexists with an abstract geometry that invites the spectator to walk through the space and perceive a two-dimensional progression between the floor and the wall.
Brick is a recurrent element in Pab贸n's work, a material traditionally used in construction but transformed by means of ceramic glazes and drilled with a percussion hammer, in the manner of a stiletto on marble, it takes on new meanings. "One can work with things taken from everyday life such as bath towels or a simple chewing gum; the interesting thing is to observe the possibilities and new dialogues with the objects, to insist on seeing beyond the thing itself, to see another possible reality by means of common objects, small things". O. A. P.
